1.Let’s talk about your family traditions. What is family for you?

As for me, my family is of great importance to me. They provide me with everything I need. My parents don’t try to better me. My relatives praise my individuality and don’t force me to turn into another person. If they are asked for help and assistance, they are willing to give me a helping hand. People like that are a priceless treasure. Many people want to have friends who take them as they are and I am happy to say that my relations are my true friends who never let me down.

2.Do you have any family traditions?

Вариант Are there any traditions in your family?
If you regard traditions as something peculiar or lengthy in terms of keeping them alive, my answer to your questions will be a negative one. My parents and I are ordinary people and we take pleasure in simple things like having a meal together in the evening or discussing current affairs. Nothing peculiar, you see. We enjoy our habit of getting together, but I wouldn’t describe it as a true tradition of my family’s. As in my opinion a tradition is something which was established  a few decades ago and has been upheld by people of different generations.

3.What will you ask your British friend about his/her family?

4.What can you advise people who want to have a good relationship with their parents and grandparents?

Вариант Can you give some pieces of advice to a person who wants to have a close and happy family?
Choosing the right strategy of behaviour is of vital importance. If you are in your midteens, the main thing to do is to demonstrate that your decisions are sound and you can be trusted. Once you succeed, they won’t treat you like a child and there won’t be any reasons for rows typical for this period. If you are of age and your parents are about to become pensioners, you ought to be respectful as people in their fifties often think that their opinions are neglected and the young disrespect them as they are no longer in need of anything provided by the old. In both situations the young should be sensitive to the current situation, being polite is the right way of behaviour in any situation.

5.They say that parents and children have difficulties understanding each other because of the generation gap. What do you think about this problem?

Предлагаем вашему вниманию и другие вопросы в рамках темы Let’s talk about family traditions

1. Can you give any recommendation to people who want to adopt an unusual family tradition?

The main thing about any tradition is whether people like it or not. If yes, no recommendations are needed. If no, you should think twice before introducing it. A tradition is no longer a ritual which is essential for survival of those who follow it.

2. Many people think that family traditions make a family close-knit and united. Are you of the same opinion?

Definitely not. People love each other because they enjoy each other’s company. People behave in a loving manner as they were brought up in this way. Family traditions ensure that all members of a family have something is common, but it is not necessary the reason for their unity.
