3: Let’s talk about family relationship (B1)

Сегодня у нас тема — Let’s talk about family relationship.

5.They say that parents and children have difficulties understanding each other because of the generation gap. What do you think about this problem?

1.Let’s talk about your family relationship. Why is family important for you?

Your family are the people who you have known all your life. You know what to expect from them. This gives you a sense of stability as they will never let you down and you can rely on them for help and support in any situation.

2.Are you on good terms with your parents and grandparents?

I try to do so. We, teenagers, are often noisy and worry about the things which are not important to our parents. Both sides are sometimes more sensitive than sensible. If one of the sides calms down, it may end peacefully. It always takes patience to sort out some misunderstanding.

3.What will you ask your British friend about his/her family?

1. Do you have a close relationship with all your relatives?
2. What are you grateful to your parents for?
3. What do you like doing together with your relatives?

4.What can you advise people who want to get on well with their parents?

Sometimes teenagers have difficulty communicating effectively with their parents. Teenagers are full of energy and always have what to say on this or that matter. We like commenting on things about which we know very little. We are often impatient and careless. Our parents and grandparents are more experienced and careful with everything they touch. If you want to have a good relationship with your parents and grandparents you should try to be like them. Be polite and listen to others. Think over your actions and don’t hurry when you make decisions. Once they see that you are sensible, you’ll win their respect.

5.They say that parents and children have difficulties understanding each other because of the generation gap. What do you think about this problem?

To my mind the root of the evil lies in the fact that teenagers and their parents don’t want to admit that kids are ready for making their own decisions and parents are still responsible for their kids’ actions. Parents should trust their kids more. Teenagers should show more respect to their parents’ point of view. Any problem can be worked out if both sides look for solutions.

Friendship in the Modern World и аудирование British breakfast.
