Начинаем разбор Let’s talk about school traditions:

1. Let’s talk about education. What can you tell me about studying at school?

Some lessons are useful, but others are useless for me. I don’t want to specialise in physics and mathematics. I wish I had more chemistry and biology lessons. The more useful lessons I have, the more I know about animals, plants and chemicals. Without hard work you’ll achieve nothing. Unless you concentrate on your studies you will make little progress.

2. Does your school have any traditions?

Вариант What can you tell me about your school traditions?
The main tradition in our school is our health day. You want to be healthy you have to do more sports. Special events and numerous competitions are organised at our school. Doctors can cure your illnesses but a good state of health is really hard to regain. You had better care about your health when you are young.

3. Ask a British teenager about his/her school life

Do you like attending your school? What do you like about your school? What are your favourite subjects?

4. Which school club would you advise you classmate to join?

My choice will depend on my classmates likes and dislikes. I am sure that out of class activities should help us to become better. If I fail to do something I should join in a club where I can learn how to become better.

5. Today some young people think that having a good education is not very important. Do you agree with them?

Education has always been important and it will always be. Success may be gained in different ways and it is not necessary that being smart and having a good education is the shortest. Education gives us a chance to develop our skills. Avoiding self-exploration you hide your talents. It’s worth trying to learn who you are.

Дополнительный вопрос к теме Let’s talk about school traditions:

Some people think that it is necessary to study foreign languages Do you agree with them?

When you don’t know a foreign language, you have to rely on the accuracy of an interpreter. If the matter is not important, any translation will do, otherwise the price of one’s mistake might be high.
Fictional literature in the original is often a reason for learning a foreign language as you may want to enjoy the plot of the story without being distorted by other’s point of view. A translation is how another person perceives the source.
