1. What places in the United Kingdom attract many tourists?

There are many places to visit but the list of the most visited ones goes as follows: 1. the Tower of London, a place of history, art and intrigue. The Tower of London has been used as a prison since 1100, and unsurprisingly has fascinating — and bloody — stories to tell. 2. The iconic cathedral has witnessed many significant events in Britain’s history, including the state funeral of Sir Winston Churchill and the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. 3. Westminster Abbey is the venue of the most famous wedding of 2011! Trace the final footsteps of Kate Middleton before she became the Duchess of Cornwall. 4. Set within the outstanding beauty of the Lake District National Park, Lake Windermere is the most popular tourist destination in Cumbria. Britain’s largest natural lake, Windermere is peppered with boats all year round, an ideal way to take in the exceptional surroundings. 5. With rides, a zoo, live entertainment and a variety of restaurants and bars, Flamingo Land Theme Park in Yorkshire is suitable for just about everyone!

2. What places would you visit first if you had a chance to be in London?

The places in London which attract loads of tourists are The world-famous British Museum exhibits the works of man from prehistoric to modern times from around the world. Highlights include the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon sculptures, and the mummies in the Ancient Egypt collection. Sitting grandly on the banks of the Thames is Tate Modern, Britain’s national museum of modern and contemporary art. Its unique shape is due to it previously being a power station.
The crowning glory of Trafalgar Square, London’s National Gallery is a vast space, filled with Western European paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries. As well as the permanent (and permanently fascinating!) dinosaur exhibition, the Natural History Museum boasts of a collection of the biggest, tallest and rarest animals in the world. The EDF Energy London Eye is a major feature of London’s skyline. It is the world’s highest observation wheel, with 32 capsules, each weighing 10 tonnes, and holding up to 25 people.

3.What traditions connected with the British monarchy attract tourists in London?

British monarchy is a symbol of Britain’s great past and a hope for bright future. The most eye-catching tradition related to British monarchy is changing the guard. This colourful ceremony is one of the ‘must sees’ on a trip to London. The Changing the Guard ceremony, or Guard Mounting as it is formally known, signifies the official handover of responsibility for the military security of the Royal Palaces in London. Ceremonial duties are an important part of Army history and tradition, and all soldiers undertaking these duties are highly trained soldiers.

4. What places of interest, besides those found, in London would you recommend visiting?

Apart from well known places to visit you can find other places which are worth visiting. It’s needless to say that different places may arouse interest of different people. I am fond of reading and it goes without saying that I want to pay a visit to the place about which I read a lot. I am getting at Sherlock Holmes Museum which is at 221b Baker Street. The Sherlock Holmes Museum has already had over 2 million visitors since opening 12 years ago. It is unique. It is in a Georgian building dating from 1815. It is totally unspoiled (by which is meant un-modernised!) and is identical to the lodging house described in the stories. The rooms in Mr Holmes´s apartment on the first floor are maintained just as he would have left them nearly 100 years ago! The Museum has entertainment, cultural and educational value. Sherlock Holmes is very much a part of England´s literary heritage and visitors flock to Baker Street to see how we are perpetuating this great legend
