Фразовые глаголы.
ask for: просить что-либо; ask out: пригласить кого-либо на свидание или совместное времяпрепровождение;
blow up: взорвать или взорваться;
break down: прекратить работать (о неодушевлённых объектах); потерять контроль над своими эмоциями;
break in: ворваться в здание незаконно или силой;
break into: аналогично «break in», акцент на само проникновение;
break up: разделить что-либо на части; завершить встречу или собрание.
Предложные конструкции.
at the age of: возраст человека на момент какого-либо события;
at the beginning (of): в начале чего-либо;
at breakfast/lunch/inner: время приёма пищи, в течение которого что-либо происходит;
at the end (of): в последней части чего-либо;
at first: изначально;
at first sight: при первом взгляде;
at… km per hour: скорость, с которой что-то движется.
Слова близкие по значению:
rent: регулярно платить деньги владельцу за использование чего-либо в течение длительного времени;
hire: платить деньги владельцу за временное использование чего-либо; нанимать кого-либо для выполнения определённой работы;
let: позволять использовать свою собственность в обмен на деньги.
leave: забыть или намеренно не взять что-либо или кого-либо с собой (упоминается место);
forget: не помнить или не взять что-либо с собой.
borrow: взять что-либо у кого-либо с разрешения, намереваясь вернуть это в будущем;
lend: разрешить кому-либо использовать что-либо, что вы сами владеете, на определённое время.
